Tying a Bow On The Last Decade

Today is the 357th day of 2019. Only 8 days left in this decade. So much has changed in the previous 10yrs, yet so much seems to have also remained the same. For whatever reason this morning, I've felt the need to reminisce while also looking forward.

February 2019 Trip to Joshua Tree National Park

I am so grateful for all that I've accomplished and been a part of in the last 10 years. The amount of both personal and professional growth has been amazing. It hasn't all been peachy, as there's certainly been trying times of loss, unforeseen accidents and challenging career decisions. The interesting thing is, thinking back to the end of 2009, and I'm not sure I even contemplated the previous decade as it came to a close. I'm impressed by the impact, and feel pretty strongly I won't take such transitions so lightly moving forward.

In the past few years I've grown a bit more spiritual, finding that looking inward has allowed me to have a better view on the light that is to guide me along this journey. Becoming more in tune with yourself seems to allow for more awareness and acceptance, and with 2020 right around the corner, I'm going to lean even more into it. I will take more responsibility for the way I feel. Candor and clarity require a great deal of courage, but nothing can be achieved without them. I believe my 2020 theme will Clarity. Continuing to find and shine the internal light, and lean into the feelings and spirits to guide me forward.

For anyone reading this, I hope that you're taking the time to find your light. It's certainly not always easy, and definitely takes persistence and discipline to sit quietly in retrospect. With all the hustle and bustle of holiday season, find some peace and solace, and build it into your routine as you round that decade corner into the 20's.

I wish you all a wonderful holiday season, whatever the holiday is you may be celebrating, and hope that with the new year comes a breath of light and energy that will guide you forward. Thanks for stopping by.
